About Donyae Coles

Donyae Coles is an author an artist based in Minnesota. In 2024 her debut novel, Midnight Rooms, was published, and thereafter nominated for a Bram Stoker’s Award in Superior Achievement for a First Novel. She has published a number of short stories in magazines and podcasts like Nightmare Magazine, Pseudopod, and Lightspeed, and has works appearing in anthologies such as All These Sunken Souls and Shirley Jackson award-nominated anthology, Crawling Moon.She is also a traditional artist skilled in multiple mediums. Her work has appeared in several galleries across the US and she had a solo exhibit displayed at 3rd Street Gallery in Harrisburg.Donyae is currently open to clients seeking developmental editing and traditional painting commissions.

Donyae specializes in horror, sci-fi/fantasy, and other work with dark themes, though she is also skilled editing romance of all tones. Traditional Painting Commissions

Donyae offers traditional fine arts painting commissions in a number of sizes and mediums, notably oil paint, watercolor, and pastel. She has experience with subjects that include but are not limited to landscapes, still lifes, and studies of the human figure. Additionally, she can create compositions with greater detail, typically influenced by surrealist and horror elements.
